Questions answered.

Everything you wanted to know but were too busy screen-sharing to ask.

What exactly is QuickBlur?
+
QuickBlur is a Chrome browser extension that lets you blur any content on any webpage — text, images, videos, or rectangular areas — without leaving the page. A floating toolbar appears when you activate the extension, giving you three blur modes: click an element, draw a rectangle, or select text. Everything happens live in your browser, with no uploads or external services involved.
Does QuickBlur actually blur content or just overlay it?
+
It uses CSS filter: blur() and backdrop-filter: blur() to visually blur content in the browser. This means the underlying DOM data is still technically present — QuickBlur is a privacy tool for visual protection (screen sharing, screenshots, working in public) rather than a data security tool. Do not rely on it to hide data from someone with browser DevTools access.
Does it work on all websites?
+
QuickBlur works on virtually all standard websites — Google, Gmail, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, GitHub, YouTube, Notion, banking sites, and more. The only exceptions are Chrome internal pages (like chrome://extensions), the Chrome Web Store itself, and pages with strict Content Security Policies that block injected scripts. We test regularly on the most common sites.
Will my saved blurs survive a page refresh?
+
Yes — use the Keep Blur (💾) button in the toolbar to save your blurs for a URL. They'll be restored automatically every time you visit that page, even after closing and reopening Chrome. On the free plan you can save up to 1 page. Pro users get unlimited saved pages.
Is cloud sync available yet?
+
Cloud sync is coming soon. Pro users will be able to sync their saved blur configurations across all their Chrome installations automatically. We'll notify you as soon as it's live.
What data does QuickBlur collect?
+
On the free plan: nothing. Blur data is stored only in chrome.storage.local on your device. We have no access to it. On the Pro plan: your email address (for login), and your blur configurations (the CSS selectors and coordinates needed to restore blurs) are stored in our database. We never collect page content, screenshots, or browsing history.
Can I use QuickBlur during a live video call or screen share?
+
Yes, that's one of the primary use cases. Open QuickBlur before you share your screen, blur the content you want to hide, then start the share. The blur is rendered directly in the browser's DOM, so it appears in any screen capture — including Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Loom recordings, and OBS.
What's the keyboard shortcut to open QuickBlur?
+
Press Alt + B on any page to toggle the QuickBlur toolbar. You can also click the QuickBlur icon in Chrome's extension toolbar. Right-clicking selected text gives you a "Blur selected text" option in the context menu. Keyboard shortcuts can be customized in chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
What's your refund policy?
+
We offer a full refund within 7 days of any charge, no questions asked. Email us at support@quickblur.pro with your order and we'll process it within 24 hours. After 7 days, we're happy to discuss on a case-by-case basis.
How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
+
You can cancel anytime directly from the QuickBlur extension's Options page → Account & Settings → Manage Billing. This opens the Dodo Payments customer portal where you manage everything. No emailing us required. After cancellation, you keep Pro access until the end of your billing period, then revert to the Free plan — your locally saved blurs are never deleted.
Is QuickBlur available for Firefox or Safari?
+
QuickBlur is currently Chrome-only (Manifest V3). Firefox and Edge support is on our roadmap — Edge should work already since it's Chromium-based. If you'd like to be notified when Firefox or Safari versions launch, drop us your email.
